We Need City Council Candidates! File by Aug 12.
Here's the nitty gritty details: There seats are up for election this year. Sarah Glade Gurney, Patrick Slayter, and Una Glass all have their terms expiring. Will they run again this year? Sarah has said NO. Una and Patrick have made no public statement, but it's common knowledge in town that all three of these dedicated public servants have every reason to be ready to retire. So, officially one incumbent is not running...but there may be two, or perhaps all three not running.
Opportunity knocks, folks!
- Are you ethical?
- Do you have an excellent moral compass?
- Can you articulate the reasons for taking a position on an issue?
- Are you open to listening to the ideas of others?
That's the qualifications, from my personal perspective.
Oh, and you have to live within the Sebastopol City limits, and there are a few other requirements. You can see them all on the City's Election Information webpage HERE.
DEADLINE: FRIDAY AUGUST 12! Pull your papers right away...there are a number of forms that need to be completed and steps taken in order to then file by the August 12 deadline. (Note that if any of the three incumbents DO NOT file by August 12, the deadline gets extended to Aug 17. But do NOT rely on this happening...plan on a deadline of August 12.)
